Sometimes, there’s nothing sadder than a rapper with too much time on his hands. The rapper Nelly was detained last night in Texas while police went onto his tour bus and found both heroin and a loaded gun. They also found a great deal of the stuff that every rapper wants to smoke.
TMZ reports that the bus was stopped at the border patrol checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, which is where officers and a police dog determined that there were drugs on the bus. Police say that they found 36 baggies of Heroin, and a good ten pounds of marijuana to go with it. They also found a loaded .45 caliber pistol.
All seven people riding the bus were detained, including Nelly himself. Another man claimed that the drugs and gun belonged to him, but we’re not sure if this lets Nelly off the hook.
Nelly, whose real name is Cornell Iral Haynes, hit the peak of his career with his album “Country Grammar,” which sold 8.4 million copies. He hasn’t seen much success as of late, so it’s hard to even know why he was on a tour bus. He announced his latest album on Twitter on July 4th, but the album wasn’t nearly as highly celebrated as his prior releases.
