What's Happening In Your World
Senior Obama Administration Officials have announced that President Obama has ordered all young illegal immigrants to stop being deported. Obama has stipulated that if the young immigrants came to the U.S. as young children and do not pose a security threat, they should not be deported. To qualify as “young”, the illegal immigrants must have arrived in the country while under 16 years of age. Obama has ordered that instead of being deported, they should be given work permits and allowed to stay in the country legally as long as  they have not committed any crimes and pass a few other tests. Another condition of getting the work permit is that the illegal immigrants must be currently in the country. According to LATimes, “The change the administration is announcing today would allow illegal immigrants under the age of 30 to stay and work in the country if they don’t pose a national security or public safety risk.” The president is expected to make the announcement at the Rose Garden later today.
