NFL Player Kills Woman and then Himself at the Team Facility

Authorities in Kansas City are on full-alert as they try to get to the bottom of a terrible tragedy that just took place in the city. At the team facility for the Kansas City Chiefs, personnel are confirming that a player killed himself and a woman on the same morning.  Reports say that the man shot his girlfriend at home, killing her.  He then drove to Arrowhead stadium in the city, where he killed himself at 8 am.

The player’s name has not been released, but he is believed to be 25-years old.

“We can confirm that there was an incident at Arrowhead earlier this morning,” the Chiefs said in a statement. “We are cooperating with authorities in their investigation.”

No one else was injured in the shooting and the investigation is still pending.  The Chiefs organization has said that they will not release the name of the player until his family has been notified.  Players have been brought together at the team’s main facility pending further details.  The Chiefs, who are 1 – 10 this season, were set to face off with the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.  This appears to be a difficult year for the organization all around.

This is the second shooting involving a football player this week.  A player at Morgan State University was also shot and killed outside his dorm.

    So So SAD!

  3. It is incredible to me that football goes on as if these lives are nothing. NO repentance, nor mourning for these young lives. God forbid a national day of humility be called. Heaven forbid MONEY should take 2nd place to anything. This young man must have been so broken to think his life was not worth much without a young lady who clearly did not want him. I cannot believe the coaches are so jaded that they will be going forward as if NOTHING happened. America is so depraved it's no wonder all creation is groaning. As a nation we are in desperate need of revival unto God. We are like a ship without a rudder. Jesus Christ told of of signs in the last days Matthew 24. It is so sad, this young man had so much potential but clearly did not have male role models who were able to mentor him. RIP. May the Prince of Peace cover the families and bring good out of all this pain and sorrow.

  4. Stop hiding your situation and talk about it to a parent or closest friends you know is understanding and would listen, then give you good advice. There are many steps to go through after death, killing yourself is not one of them for it says you do not believe that Jesus is Lord.

  5. Sister Roundy, I echo your insightful comment. Once again we see the result of a heart not submitted to God. I do not know either of these people but my heart aches. To think of the magnificant plans God has for us and to see what happens when we put money over God is breath taking. The scary thing about this situation is that none of us are far from it. As a messager of God, the prophet of old declare that "The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is (Jeremiah 17:9, NLT)?"

    • This is what we have in our colleges and universities, godlessness. Suicide is actually a "choice". We have removed God from everything and we wonder why our young people are killing themselves. It is truly heart breaking. May our Lord have mercy and send REVIVAL to America.

  6. So Sad, I pray for the families.

  7. It is on TV now; 6:00pm news; don't say a woman; it is his baby's mother; they lived together. We don't know what goes on behind closed doors; there was no God in his life. Football was his life at 25 years old.

  8. So many people are hurting and don't know how to deal with the pain. I send my prayers out for those who killed, those who died, the families, the team mates, the friends, the owners of the franchises, their employees and all those whose lives have been touched in the past and present by them all. This too is good; this too is God; and regardless of the circumstances, there is a blessing in it.

    • I don't believe this was God. I do believe God works all things together for good to those who believe and are called according to his purposes. What the enemy meant for evil may God turn around for a blessing. Amen.

  9. For the love of…money, 'I' (some people) will do anything! Sad.
