The Center for Science in the Public Interest wants diva, Beyoncé, to back away from her deal with PepsiCo. The recent request, by the organization, stems from PepsiCo adding another artificial sweetener, acesulfame potassium, to its brand.  PepsiCo is offering the singer $50 million dollars to endorse their brand. In return, the company plans to back Beyoncé’s future endeavors. But The CSPI, says that Beyoncé is far too big to endorse a product that is doing more harm than good to Americans. In a letter to Beyoncé, they urged her to reconsider saying, “Your image is one of success, health, talent, fitness and glamour.” “But by lending your name and image to PepsiCo, you are associating those positive attributes with a product that is quite literally sickening Americans.” While they may not be successful in stopping the deal, they hope Beyoncé does something more positive with the money she will receive.
