Trump’s Crooked Budget Proposal Seeks To Harm Average Americans
By Dr. Sinclair N. Grey III
The more President Donald Trump talks about ‘Make America Great Again’ someone has to raise the question – what do you mean? Do Trump and his administration want America to return to a period of segregation? With some of the Executive Orders that Trump has signed, there’s evidence that America has become xenophobic towards Mexicans and Muslims.
With so much about this and that – Trump is constantly raising ‘red-flags’ about his competence to be President of the United States of America. A man who claims to be pro-American is actually showing the world what his intentions really are. In addition to that, those who defend Trump on his actions are participating in the undoing of what makes America great.
Recently, Trump released his budget proposal for the world to witness. Anyone who has had time to listen to a few commentators dissect his proposed budget will clearly see that the Department of Defense, Homeland Security, and the building of the wall are on the top of Trump’s list. What’s at the bottom is funding for the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Labor.
In case you’re not aware of additional proposed budget cuts the Trump administration is proposing, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting is on the chopping block. That’s right; the Corporation for Public Broadcasting that supports NPR and PBS is at risk. You know PBS – the broadcast of Sesame Street that has helped children with their education throughout the years. The budget for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting is set at $445 million per year. However, if the House and Senate pass Trump’s proposal, the funding will phase out.
According to an article in Rolling Out, “The Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) was at one point in jeopardy. It’s a program that conservatives have labeled a corporate welfare program. Their budget is $36 million, which averages $.11 per American. Commerce.gov describes this agency as “the only federal agency established solely to create jobs through the growth and global competitiveness of minority-owned businesses in the United States. MBDA coordinates and leverages public and private sector resources to provide access to capital, contracts, and markets.”
