The Wayans Family Comes To Oprah’s Next Chapter

wayansbrothers225 The family franchise that we all grew up loving is having their say in Oprah’s Next Chapter. Not all of the famous family members were in attendance, but both Wayans generations were represented well. The Wayans clan that includes, Kim, Keenan, Shawn, Marlon, Damien, Craig, and Damon Jr. showed Oprah a hilarious good time.

The family came to fame in the 90’s, when Damon and Keenan Wayans wrote and produced the sketch comedy show, In Living Color. The show aired from 1990 to 1994. The show helped not only launch the careers of other family members, but it helped the careers of David Alan Grier, Jennifer Lopez, Jamie Foxx, Laurie Ann Gibson, Rosie Perez, Kim Coles, and Jim Carrey.

After In Living Color’s end, Keenan went on to produce a few feature films like A Low Down Dirty Shame ,which starred himself and Jada Pinkett- Smith. Damon Wayans had major success with his sitcom, My Wife and Kids, which helped his son, Damon Jr., gain some recognition as a writer and actor on the show.  The second generation Wayans currently stars in the ABC sitcom, Happy Endings, alongside Eliza Coupe, Elisha Cuthbert, Zachary Knighton, Adam Pally, and Casey Wilson.

Marlon and Shawn have partnered on many projects, including their hit situation comedy, The Wayans Brothers. The show was on the air from, 1995 to May1999, on the WB network. The show starred the two brothers, as themselves, Anna Maria Horsford, and John Witherspoon. Marlon and Shawn Wayans have written and produced several feature films that include, White Chicks, Little Man, Don’t Be A Menace To Society While Drinking Your Gin and Juice In The Hood.
