The New York Post is reporting that Simpson threw a Superbowl viewing party in in his 80 foot cell, where Simpson also has his own private television.
Simpson is currently serving a 33 year sentence stemming from a 2008 robbery and kidnapping conviction. The former football star made national headlines in 1995 when he was acquitted of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson.
Even though Simpson was in lockup, he reportedly celebrated the Superbowl in style with his jail mates, and according to reports, it was quite the must see event for those serving time alongside Simpson.
“If you have the money, you can buy a TV at the inmate store and put it in your cell,” his producer friend Normal Pardo told the Post. “He’s like the Godfather of the prison now.”
O.J. Simpson once played for the 49ers, so maybe that’s the team he rooted for, but there’s no way to know for sure.
Simpson is currently 65 years old and won’t be eligible for parole until at least 2017.
