There are many unsung African-Americans that hold great achievements and are responsible for some of the most memorable moments in American history. Ann Lowe definitely fits into that category. She is a black fashion designer that designed the wedding dress for who many consider to be the most fashionable first lady, Jacqueline Kennedy.
Lowe designed the lovely dress using fifty yards of ivory silk taffeta. She also designed all ten of the dresses for the bridesmaids; however, ten days before the wedding a water line broke at the White House and ruined all eleven dresses. Lowe worked feverishly to repair the garments in time for the ceremony.
