Will Smith is a superstar in Hollywood, he has never forgotten his hip hop and Philadelphia roots. Smith was seen at a book signing, in Philly, for his friend and ex Public Enemy member, Sister Souljah. Souljah was in Philly promoting her latest novel, A Deeper Love Inside: The Porsche Santiaga Story. Jada Pinkett Smith was once in talks to turn Souljah’s hit novel The Coldest Winter Ever, into a screenplay.
Smith posed for pictures with the author. Souljah thanked Smith for his support, “WILL SMITH, much love to you for welcoming me to your city, taking good care of me, & standing by my side. I loved the conversation & people.”
Souljah was heavily criticized for her controversial comments about the LA riots in the 90s, which led to Clinton calling it the “Sister Souljah Moment”. She was the only female representation in the group Public Enemy, but since that time has had much success, as a novelist.
