Donald Driver has been a great receiver for a great franchise. Actually, he was the greatest Packers receiver of all-time, which says a lot when playing for the team that Vince Lombardi once made legendary. Driver has announced that he plans to leave the NFL soon, due to old age attacking his body like it does for everyone. He is now 38-years old, which is too old to take the hits that he once took back in the day. The fans are going to miss him.
The team announced Driver’s retirement on Thursday, and the player says that he has always had a special bond with the Packers fans, and “can think of no better way to retire than to celebrate with them and the Packers organization.”
The official retirement will take place on February 6 of this year. The player finishes with stellar statistics, including 10,137 yards, 743 catches and 61 touch down receptions. He had seven seasons in which he passed 1,000 receiving yards, an extraordinary record that makes him the greatest Packers receiver of all-time.
