The Kansas City Star is reporting that deceased Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher told a secret girlfriend that he would shoot Kassandra Perkins if she “didn’t leave him alone.” Belcher eventually shot his girlfriend in cold blood a few weeks later, shooting her after a long argument after she’d been out all-night at a Trey Songz concert.   The death was just ruled to be a murder-suicide, where the 25-year old player shot his 22-year old girlfriend while his mother and daughter were also inside the house. Belcher allegedly told the girlfriend that Perkins “knew exactly how to press his buttons and make him angry.” He told her Perkins had “threatened to take all his money and his child if they split up.” Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel said that Belcher missed a team practice one day because his girlfriend had stayed out the night before and forced him to be at home with the baby.  He said that Belcher had spoken to an attorney about getting full custody of his daughter. Cheryl Shepherd, Belcher’s mother, said that she moved into the home due to “relationship problems due to financial issues associated with Perkins’ spending habits.”
