L.A. Reid X’d Out Of X Factor

It is official. L.A. Reid will not be returning for a 3rd season of the X Factor. The Epic Records chairman and CEO, wants to focus on his career away from the reality music show. In the first season Reid signed three runner-ups and agreed to distribute season three winner, Melanie Amaro’s album, which has been pushed back until first quarter 2013.

According to a spokesperson at Epic, Reid is very busy and must turn his focus back to Epic Records. The singing competition show, along with it’s rival, The Voice, has suffered some rating dips recently and is losing it’s edge with viewers. Already they have replaced three key people on the show.

Britney Spears and Demi Lavato replaced the first season judges, Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul. Mario Lopez replaced Steve Jones and Khloe Kardashian has been added as co-host. There has been no announcement as to who will replace Reid as a judge.
