In this video, Ryan Mack discusses the recent decision by the Michigan House of Representatives to pass Right to Work legislation. Mack argues that the public is often misled about the value of unions and should realize that strong unions support everyone. Most states that support right to work legislation are Republican and in the south. So, the victory in Michigan was significant for those who support it.
Right to work laws disallow contracts between companies and unions that require all workers to pay for union negotiations. The laws have been shown to weaken labor unions by dividing their resources, which allow corporations to have more power and to pay lower wages. President Obama also does not support Right to Work laws.
