Katt Williams Announces His Retirement from Comedy

You have to feel bad for Katt Williams.  The comedian has had a relentless string of troubles, including multiple arrests. The incidents have had people wondering if the poor man was on drugs or had just lost his damn mind.  Just this week, he was asked to leave a Seattle hotel after being released from jail after getting into a fight at a bar.  A few days earlier, TMZ showed video of the comedian slapping an employee in Target.

Now, Katt says that he’s ready to hang up his microphone.   The comedian did an interview with KOMO TV to tell his fans that he was on his way out the door.  He was scheduled to appear in Houston, but says that he’s now planning to get out of the game.  His tour has been cancelled.

“I’m just gonna go ahead and announce my retirement from standup, I’m kinda done,” Williams said. “I’ve discussed it with my kids, I wasn’t gonna do in the middle of a Seattle street, I was going to go to Los Angeles and do it in the offices of ICM or LiveNation.”

Katt being kicked out of his hotel was actually unrelated to his earlier arrest.  He also said that he wants to sue the city of Seattle for defaming him.

“I can stay [on the ferry], and my family can be there, and my dogs can be there, and my whole staff can be there, until we get done suing Seattle for this $50 million that I want for crippling my reputation as a father, and a black man, and as a taxpaying citizen, and as a person who is not a convicted felon,” he said.

Katt got his big break when playing “Money Mike,” the famous pimp in “Friday after Next.”  He also played a hilarious character called “A Pimp Named Slickback” on the Boondocks.   Katt has a total of eight children, but believe it or not, seven of them are adopted.

Let’s hope that he gets the help he needs.  That’s what’s important right now.
