Grey’s Anatomy actor ,Jesse Williams, is at the top of Ebony’s Power 100, in their January issue. Aside from being the sexy Dr. Jackson Avery on the hit show, Williams was a part of the team that brought Question Bridge: Black Males to the forefront. The Brooklyn Museum exhibit, which was around for seven months, featured 150 Black men from 12 American cities.
The piece focused on redefining Black male identity in America. The work was created by artists Hank Willis Thomas and Chris Johnson in collaboration with Bayeté Ross Smith and Kamal Sinclair. Williams was one of three executive producers which included actor Delroy Lindo.
The former teacher is also an active advocate for change when it comes to education. He holds a passion for reducing the educational gap of underprivileged youth. “ As a former teacher, I strived for short and long-term results in the classroom, but we clearly must attack this issue with multitude of basic and creative approaches to have any shot at meaningful improvement”, says Williams. Others included on the list are Wendy Williams, CeeLo Green, Michelle Obama, Robin Roberts, and Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas.
