The late August’s Wilson’s Pulitzer Prize winning play, The Piano Lesson, has received an extension at New York City’s Signature Theatre.  Just in time for the holidays, Signature has announced that the production will be extended until Dec. 23rd, after the initial run was sold out. The play features, The Help’s, Roslyn Ruff as Berniece, the matriarch of the family. Tony Award winner, Ruben Santiago-Hudson (Stick Fly), is at the reigns of this fabulous production, as director.

But, Berniece,(Ruff) , wants to preserve the family history and refuses to let her brother take the piano. They are also joined by ,Tony Award winner Chuck Cooper (Finian’s Rainbow, The Life) as Wining Boy, Brandon J. Dirden (Clybourne Park, Signature’s The First Breeze of Summer) as Boy Willie, Jason Dirden (Signature’s The First Breeze of Summer) as Lymon, Alexis Holt (South Pacific) as Maretha, and Mandi Masden (Off-Broadway debut) as Grace.
