By: Victor “Doc V” Trammell

Former Murder Inc. marquee rapper Ja Rule began serving a two-year prison sentence in June of 2011 at the Onieda Correctional Facility in Rome, New York. He turned himself in after pleading guilty to gun charges he caught back in July of 2007.

After a performance at the Beacon Theatre in New York City, Ja Rule was a passenger in a blue 2004 Maybach that was pulled over by police for speeding. A search was performed by the officers after they smelled the scent of marijuana coming from the vehicle. After performing the search, a fully loaded, semi-automatic handgun was found.
