Florida Today has reported that the Florida woman, Tonya Thomas, who shocked everyone by shooting herself and her four children, had double the legal limit of alcohol in her blood. The Port St. John woman killed herself and her four children, all in the span of 35 minutes. Her four children were ages 17, 15, 13 and 12 years old. She was 33 years old.
When the police found Thomas, she was lying dead, on her couch, with the gun still in her hands.
Dr. Sajid Qaiser, the Brevard County Medical Examiner, confirmed that Thomas and her children all died of gunshot wounds but he also found that Thomas had an elevated blood alcohol level.
