Al Thompson: Young Filmmaker Brings Exciting Web Series about Life in Harlem

by Dr. Boyce Watkins

Al Thompson has a deep and rich history in the field of entertainment.  After spending a lot of years as an actor, he decided to branch out on his own and create an original web series.  His new show, called Lenox Avenue, promises to be exciting, interesting and entertaining as it shows the side of black life that doesn’t always get featured in mainstream media.  In case you don’t know, Lenox Ave is an historic location in Harlem, NY.

I spoke with Al recently about his new projects and found the conversation to be lively and interesting.  I hope you’ll check out his new project, because I agree with Al’s point that we have to be the ones telling our stories, since everyone else seems to get it wrong.
